The Synopsis

What it's about

On the day January Crane is rushing home to tell her husband about her pregnancy news, she overhears a conversation which turns her entire life upside down. They were never married. She is the other woman. He never intended for her to be anything other than his American wife, hidden forever from his European family, which, apparently were a mafia family. With the help of her parents, she finds a way to escape from the secrets she was never meant to learn. To appease his grandfather, the head of their Greek mafia family, Gulliver Crane Raptis agreed to marry a woman of an affiliated family. At least, he’d agreed until the air was knocked out of his lungs with the appearance of an angel delivered straight to him from God. Like the Madonna herself, she was everything he ever dreamed of having and he wasn’t going to stop at anything to until January was his. Unfortunately for him, his grandfather was not willing to bend. If he didn’t want to lose the opportunity to take over the seat when the old man eventually died, he needed to marry the woman selected by the family. The compromise was to never let January know they weren’t really married. His entire family agreed to keep it secret. January would never need to know she was his second family. His own plan though was the moment his grandfather passed away, was to divorce the other woman, marry his January for real and be with her and only her and she would never be the wiser. Then she disappeared. Gone without a trace, the woman he wanted for his wife left him with a broken heart and no explanation. For almost eight years he tore the world apart for any idea on what could have happened to her and her family. Everything from fears of his family’s enemies hurting her to the audacity of her leaving him, Gulliver was a man haunted by the loss.
